Meet the Staff of Newburyport Family Practice
Dr. Kevin K. Lanphear, D.O.
Dr. Kevin Lanphear grew up in Cranston, Rhode Island and then attended Nasson College in Springvale, Maine before medical school at Kirskville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. Post-graduate residency training was done at the Naval Regional Medical Center in San Diego, California as well as the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Pensacola, Florida. As a naval flight surgeon he was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida with deployments to Rota, Spain and Sigonella, Italy. Upon getting married, he and his wife decided to return to his New England roots and moved to Newburyport to join the practice with Dr. Andy Longley and Dr. Larry Kimball in 1986.
Dr. Lanphear is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Massachusetts Medical Society, and the Massachusetts Osteopathic Society. He is the President of the Whittier Independent Practice Association and the Lower Merrimack Valley Physicians Hospital Organization, as well as Chairman of the Board of Wellport. Dr. Lanphear is also a member of the Board of Steward Health Care Network. He was recognized as the Community Clinician of the Year in 2012 by the Essex North District Medical Society and the Massachusetts Medical Society. Special interests include acute child and adult care as well as osteopathic manipulation and Health Information Technology. He is married with two children and pets, and enjoys outdoor activities and especially time with family.
Dr. Renae M. Freid, D.O.
Dr. Renae Freid was born in Kansas, and has lived in Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and Maine, but she considers New England her home. She graduated from high school in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. She attended college at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine and graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. She attended residency at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Dr. Freid is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She joined Newburyport Family Practice in the spring of 2003. Special interests are adolescent and women’s health, and osteopathic manipulation. She currently resides in West Newbury and enjoys spending time outdoors, in Maine with friends and family.
Dr. Hayley Moak-Blest, D.O.
Dr. Hayley Moak-Blest was born and raised in Newburyport, MA. She attended University of Massachusetts Amherst Commonwealth Honors College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. She received her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She returned to Massachusetts to complete her Residency Training at University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Dr. Moak-Blest is board certified by both the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Moak-Blest practices full spectrum family medicine and enjoys taking care of multigenerational families. Her special interests include pediatrics, women’s health, office procedures, and Osteopathic Manipulation.
Dr. Moak-Blest spent the first 5 years of her career working in a community health center north of Boston. She is looking forward to living and working in her home town after being away for 15 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband and son. When not at work you will find her enjoying the outdoors, whether it’s skiing, jogging, boating, or hiking.
Greg Hijeck, PA-C
Greg Hijeck was born and raised in northern Connecticut. He received his bachelors in biology from Gordon College, and went on to achieve a masters in physician assistant studies at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. Before starting at Newburyport Family Practice He worked in emergency medicine at Melrose Wakefield Hospital.
Greg enjoys spending time with friends and family, relaxing on his boat, and getting outdoors as much as possible.
Sarah Rizzo, PA-C
Sarah Rizzo was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. She received a bachelors in biology from Saint Michaels College in Burlington, VT, where she met her husband, a Massachusetts native. She went on to get her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Salus University in Philadelphia, PA.
Sarah started working at Newburyport Family Practice at the end of summer 2015. She enjoys relaxing with her family on the weekend.
